Some Positive thoughts instead of Positive energy
In the contemporary world, rich with the vestigial remains of pseudoscientific and religious customs; positive energy has become the integral part of many Holy Scriptures.
So I would like to start with the definition of Energy in Physics
Definition of Energy, in physics: Energy is the capacity to do work.
We have learned about different forms of energies like heat, light, sound, chemical etc but have we ever been taught about an energy called “positive energy”?? No, right?
There is no such thing called positive energy, people use this term in many contexts mostly uncomprehendingly. For example: Homeopaths and Astrologers use the word positive energy to defend their age old, unscientific and archaic beliefs. Words like positive, negative and energy, even though sound scientific, it doesn’t convey any meaning if it is used uncomprehendingly.
Please read the sentence carefully: “Without the presence of a conscious observer, moon is nothing but radically ambiguous and ceaselessly flowing quantum soup” Do you make any sense out of this?? This is a perfect example of how people are being deceived by confusing them with scientific sounding words which actually have no meaning at all. Here, if you have noticed, these are scientific jargons which are used in Quantum mechanics (like the observer effect, Quantum soup etc) but when someone says this, a layman would perceive this as a sensible statement even though it is a nonsense.
Some priests claim Mantras have energies, they would defend their claim by saying sound is an energy, mantra is sound and hence it can make positive changes in your life. This is an absurd statement; a little common sense is more than enough to establish the baselessness of this claim. If Mantras have energy because it is sound then let’s place speakers on the four corners of our room, there will be an abundant flow of energy. In physics, sound is a vibration that propagates as a typically audible mechanical wave of pressure and displacement, through a medium such as air or water. So without water or air sound doesn’t exist. Sound unlike other energies is not a propagation of particles (eg: light is the propagation of photons) instead it is the vibration (temporary change in the position of particles) of air or water molecules, or the respective medium in which the “sound event” is happening.
So before accepting any statements related to “reality or science” wouldn’t it be wise to go through the real definition of words or terms? otherwise we’ll get trapped in these discussions.
